A tip for laundry care.

Do you know how simple it is to make your own dryer sheets!  Here's a non toxic, non harmful, natural recipe for DIY dryer sheets.

* take an old dish towel (or whatever old towel you prefer) and cut it in to small sheets (about the size of your hand, or a bit larger). I cut about 10 to 12 sheets.

*Place the cut up pieces into a deep covered container.  (I used a plastic Tupperware container). Glass is fine, but you may find it heavy and bothersome over time.

*Fill the container with white distilled vinegar.  Fill until you've covered the cut pieces of cloth.

*Now, add your favorite essential oil.  You don't have to ads any oils, but there is an option to add your favorite fresh scent. I add about 25 drops to mine, or more if I'm feeling like it that day. 😊

* Give it a good shake, cover it with a lid and there you have it.

Directions on how to use your non toxic dryer sheets:

** Place 1 to 2 sheets in dryer with clean clothes. It depends on how large of a load you have as to how many sheets you will use.

**Turn dryer on as usual. Once clothes are dry you can place the dryer sheet back in the vinegar solution container and use over and over.

***If you have been using regular dryer sheets, it may take a few drying sessions for the new sheets to rid your machine of the static.  HANG IN THERE!  It does work.  As with anything that is useful and of value, it takes time to undo the damage.  Your clothes may have some static as well with the first initial laundry loads.

I've been using this method for years now.  Vinegar removes odors and dirt.  It is a neutralizer.  It also cleans your laundry machine as it's drying.  You could throw a little vinegar in your wash as well.  These sheets can be used as many times as you'd like.  Just refill the vinegar and add your essential oil.
I'd recommend a good quality essential oil.  You are making a change for the better ridding your home of harmful chemicals. Might as well do it right.

I hope you find this helpful and will give it a try.  Once you start to feel better, there's no going back. 😉
